So i am wanting to do some frame/body modifcations on my 550LTD. One thing i have always liked on these older kawis where the rear tail section on the KZ's. However, i know that the frames of the LTD's and the KZ's are different. Was wondering if anyone has heard of cutting the rear section of a KZ's frame and welding to an LTD so that that rear section of the KZ can be incorporated into the LTD. Any and all criticizing is welcome. Thanks for the help guys

Some have added tails to LTDs, but did not weld on the rear section of the frame, just made mounts or zip tied to the existing frame.

You could probably weld the rear section from a std on the LTD, but if you get a seat and tail you could probably also fab what you need to hold it. The rear section only supports the body work and tail light. And, as mentioned in the other thread, you will need the side covers from the std model also.
