...removed the differential and Cut off the bumps that mount the rear axel and clamp the axel bearings in. Now all i have to do is go to menards and buy some high grade bolts. I also plan on doing some welding to those clamps when i have the axel all straight and mounted as well as welded in the center,(since the axels are split for the gears in the differential)....

Ok, since i only have 55 minutes per day in myshop class and my teacher started to do study days where we read out of the book or watch an informational video, i havent had too much time to do work to the lawn killer:D I have started to weld up a sub frame that will strengthen the current frame and give it extra support for the heavier engine. I had the axels mounted but not welded and i quickly found how easy the mounting spots for the differential could bend without the extra supports that the whole case supplied. Now that the differential casing is gone, all i have are the lumps that i cut off of the cases that clamped the axel and bearrings in place. So i slid the axels out and clamped them into a piece of angle iron to keep them straight. This way, i can weld and the axel will... stay straight:D anyways, i havent gotten to the welding on the axels yet. I designed and measured a frame that will weld into the current frame on the mower. i figured i would just use tube steel since its strong and common around my shop at school. I Also decided to mount the engine in the rear area of the mower just above the axle. i plan on doing some major re-inforcing back there since it will have the weight of the motor and my fatass as wellXD. Another reason i havent been working on it lately and i havent been on here in a while is that my grandpa Craig died the day before thanksgiving and it messed with me pretty bad. Im also currently moving in with my grandma too. She wants people around right now and some extra help with cleaning and keeping the furnace stoked. im switching schools as well so im going to have to load up the lawn killer and take it home soon. At least then ill have all day with the damn thing and im sure ill get it done as soon as the new gaskets show up and i get some oil. I inspected the crank case of the KZ400 engine and found that it was shiney and new in there still. The only thing that got damaged was the AC generator and the starter clutch. Everything else is fine. I PROMISE i wont forget me camera tomorrow. Ill video tape everything and post it when i get off school.
Thanks for reading guys,
KT

PS- that picture is funny as hell XDDDD
