Adam's Drag Bike

I haven't been around lately because I am too slow at photo chopping and can't keep up with all the old guys that have too much time on their hands, and I have been working on the house. I have been cleaning out my basement so I could have some room and move my '83 GPz11OO in, and today I finally got her down there. There was no way I was getting that big motor down the medieval stairs to my basement as is, so I had to remove the top end to lighten it up. Here are a couple pics, including a little crack in the head.

Wat kind of head gasket is that? It seems to be 3 or 4 thin layers of aluminum sandwiched together and that's it...

Those end plugs are from KZR member Dshelly, he's a machinist who made them for me, you can see a little groove in the crescent part and a little mini gasket he supplied, looks like a really good idea!

Ok, most likely missing something but why is there a hole in the end caps?

the J engined bikes have a bolt that goes through the endcap, I think it is there to squeeze the cap and make it not leak, but in reality they leak like a sieve.

I think this is going to be a really long running thread, several years likely. I am going to have everything done to the bike that should be done by professionals from the bottom up, so it will cost me an arm and a leg, but I will do all that I can on my own. See you in a few weeks! I am going for an all day ride today (I'm off!)
