How much in the way is the frame? A pic may help us to come up with a solution. I had to put some heat to my frame and pinch the tubes a little to fit my tank.

i dont think u would ever be able to remove the cam cover either. how about moving the petcock instead?

That tube is a main structural member. While you could certianly engineer a "bypass" around the petcock, the amount of material needed to safely do so in the limited space you have would most likely necessitate modification of the tank to fit your frame mods anyway. In this case, I believe your best bet is to modify the tank/petcock location. My $.02 ;)

yeah i dont think that compromising the structural integrity of the bike for a cool tank is a viable option, dont do it, find another petcock setup that will work, if you really want to weld make sure there are no existing fumes in the tank and cut somewhere else in the tank that will work and cover the hole from the petcock you are replacing, i would just keep looking for a different tank that works, whats so cool about a "peanut" tank

mark1122 that is one of the best examples of a modern upgrade to a sweet classic that i have ever seen, i gotta get in touch with ya when i come up with some dough, is it possible to rake the front end in on my bike a few degrees giving it the sportbike feel with the kick ass looks of an old kawi, sorry about the off subject reply but you should be bike of the month or something

It's smack dab in the middle of the frame rail.
