Bobber project needs steering stem bearings

Hi, I'm a newbie working on a KZ650 bobber on a KZ100 frame. I have the steering stem from a 650 with bearings but can't find the two pieces that fit into the neck of the frame before you insert the stem and bearings. Anyone know where I can get them and what they are called? I bought a newer set of tapered bearings and they fit the neck of the frame but not the stem. Help!

Thanks,
Bryan

Bryan,
I think your talking about the "races". They should come with the bearings when bought new. The races will fit snuggly into the triple tree neck. I had a similar situation with a Suzuki stem and kawasaki neck. I made measurements of the neck and stem, called "all balls" bearings and they sent me the proper bearings and races. Just google up "all balls" and they are good to work with.

Thanks for the reply Jim. That's where I got the new tapered style bearings. The races fit into the neck of the frame but the inside diameter of the new bearings won't go over the top of the steering stem.

Measure the diameter of the stem and see if all balls can amtch the innere and outer specs, they did for me.

The early 650 and 900/100 bearings are identical. Either they sent the wrong bearing or your tree and frame are not what you believe them to be.

It looks like they sent me the wrong bearings for a KLR250. Sending them back.
