750 e1 chop/lowrider
24 Apr 2010 06:29
i got this dog in a sorry state the forks were twisted , the bars bent etc etc
after having a really good look at it the wise move was to rebuild it so i started with a 16" rear wheel
the problem now was the front looked too skinney so i got hold of some klr 650 forks and had some wider yokes knocked up so i could stick another 16" rear wheel up front
a set of twin dominator lights i had knocking around got mounted over and under on a home made mount
the battery now hides in a gas mask case and an exhaust was knocked up using bits i had in the scrap pile , the mudguards are from a trailer and the forward controls were knocked up using bits i had lying around
just got to find a new wiring loom and sort the brakes now then its on the road

If you do nothing else, at least you got the stance spot on. Not much cornering clearance. That thing is loooow! Genious, putting the battery in the gas mask case, but watch out for battery leaks. Thanks for contributing. If you were a yank, I'd tell you to paint a star on that tank.

I'd be more concerned about float valve leaks! One of the pics shows the exhaust pipes cut off under the center of the engine. With the engine running, if a float valve sticks your bike is going to light up like a Roman candle. Ed

Nice ride. I didn't see the gas mask you referred to. Did I miss it, or wasn't there a picture?

Nice. I added a gas mask bag to my 750 the other day. I got tired of attaching a backpack style tank bag to my sissy bar. I forget the country or origin, but it's soviet.
