And the rear

if the 2 mufflers were turned parallel :side: or even in the opposite direction , would u have enough clearance ?

how about a conventional pipe like a Kerker style with a left side exit ? u may still have to bend it yourself but it would be much easier. :side:

maybe if u bent the pipe up so the muffler followed the frame line, u could see most of the clearance provided by the SSSA ? higher than this one.

Thanks for the pictures Mark! The "through the tail" exit bike will definately roast your passengers backside
I'm also trying to steer clear of the 400mm wide rear tires, but it IS tough to fight the urge  I'm still not sure the direction I'm going to take it. I need to do a bit more research, but I'm going to look into designing a chambered muffler (ala flowmaster-ish) utilizing the Helmholtz Resonator principle. In that way I should be able to make a very thin muffler (<2" thick) that will tuck up under the tail and possibly provide a unique/unusual/wierd sound.

I think You misinterpreted my post there Craig. A different or unique sound is not my objective ....and placement of the muffler won't make much if any difference in the bikes sound. I was only noting that the idea I had for the muffler was different than conventional motorcycle silencers, so the sound of such a design might be different as well. I think your daytime freedom is playing hell with your interpretation skills :P
