It's your bike and your taste, but to me it's a shame that you destroyed a really nice original bike to make just another run of the mill homemade "custom." I guess that's what happens when someone gets a once in a lifetime deal on a well kept bike. Since the bike didn't cost much you probably didn't recognize its value. Just my 2cents.
that bike stock was in NICE condition...at 18, that would have been my collection starter.....its his bike and he can do what he wants......at 18, he shows a lot of skill and ingenuity that a lot of us didnt have at his age...a definite asset to the collabarative......when he s 40 and if he is still into bikes, he will break his leg kicking himself in the butt......hes a jr plummen in training and thats a good thing........just my useless .02......

You don't know me sonny, so don't make assumptions. I was modifying bikes (1965) before you were born (1982). Ed

We all have personal preferences and you bought the bike so you have the right to make it your own.
You will run into a lot of varying opinions on this site so take away from it what you think is important.
You show a lot of talent, and should become a valued member over time.
Best of luck to you,
Grant
P.S. My son is putting his own mark on my (soon to be his) KZ750. I don't agree with a lot of what he wants to do to the bike, but its the time we spend together that we will remember more than the details of what went on with the bike.
