My next project that I aquired yesterday is this GPz1100.It has a fresh paint job but is disassembled. The painter will have the tank and front fender done next week. This bike is in running condition but is very dirty and needs chain and sprockets. As soon as I'm home during daylight hours I'll take some pics.

Hello Dan...also saw this post on the Yahoo site (I'm a member there too). Congrats on the GPZ...I also noted it in the local Craig's List and thought it might have been a good acquisition...but not for me :)

Not much been happening on this bike since I got it.The guy I bought it from was in the middle of repainting it and had the side covers, tail piece and fairing done but hadn't done the front fender or tank. So I left those parts with him because he said he would have them done in a couple days.Well....just got the tank back tonight and he tells me he can't find the front fender. But he is going to Dallas for the holiday and will bring me one back.I can't believe this guy makes a living as a bike painter.I did a better job on my very first attempt at painting compared to this guys work. It will have to do for now though.I'll repaint it this Spring.So...now I can work on getting it running now that I have a tank.I should be back home on Friday and with any luck, I will get to start it up and see how it runs.My list of needed parts is growing also.I had to rob a couple things off of this bike to put on the turbo so I could get the safety inspection done on it the other day.I need a pair of good horns and a petcock and one fairing bracket.

Which is why I have been dragging my feet about my repaints...in this part of Texas, craftsmanship appears to be at an all-time low...unless, of course, you want flames or skulls

yeah....this guy left two dings, didn't bother to sand the flaking paint along the bottom seam and in a couple of places you can see through the red and the previous red metalflake boat paint shows through. Mcdroid, you aren't that far from me.If you just want a stock repaint....let me know.
As far as pics, I will post some later this weekend when I get the body work put back on.

Yeah, we might have to get together and chat. Can't do it in conjunction with one of JT's proposed weekend rides (I'm almost always busy on the weekends) but I might be able to zip up on a Saturday morn and meet you.

No problem....I work for myself right now so I only work when I get called. I'm usually around the house at least part of the day everyday. As soon as my helmet arrives I'll be taking some shakedown runs on the turbo.
I just finished instlling the new seat cover on the turbo seat.I think I talked my mom into making me another cover to use on the 1100.Mcdroid wrote:
