Here's a winter project in Lincoln, NE. 1981 KZ440B. It gets a B+ for cosmetics. Filthy, but not much rust except for the fork tube tops (damn fork ears). Needs a petcock, carb work, air box (or something)and it ought to run. The electrical stuff all seems to work, which is good since she's electric start only. So, step 1 is to deal with the fuel issues, push the button and see what happens.

Here's the left side. Note that there is no brake cable. The guy that I got it from had disconnected it and removed the bake lever, on the grounds that he had never used a front brake and they are useless, anyway. Really. It's kind of disconcerting moving the bike around as I'm forever reaching for a brake that doesn't exist.

Before you try to start it, you may want to change the oil & filter then pull spark plugs and spin the motor with starter to get some oil circulated through the motor.

Plugs and oil are new, and the timing has been set on new points (although I'll check them again). The condenser is supposedly out of some kind of Chevy. The lead is about 3-feet too long, but it seems to work. Oil pressure sensor is supposedly a Honda Civic item. It also seems to work, or at least the idiot light does.
