kz700 done.

hey guys, I just finished my kz700 about a week ago and wanted to share. I know the 700 is nothing special but I really like the bike. The plan was to restore it over winter for next season but I couldn't wait. I already put about 500 miles on it in that last week (took a long trip and visited some friends up north). Here are the finish pictures. What do you guys think of the colors? I was also thinking about painting the carbs black, what do you think?

Nice job! I like the colors. I would look better with black carbs as they do not look like they belong but it's a nice clean bike and will put a lot of (s)miles on you for a long time to come. I can't get into square headlights for some reason. But I'm not sure your's would look good with a round because of the squarish instrument pod. GLuck and again nice job. ;)

I am not a fan of the square headlight as well. It originally had a chrome bezel which made me want to throw up every time I looked at it. I painted the bezel flat black with helped alot. I am still not crazy about the square headlight but I can live with it.

I would not paint the carbs. There needs to be some chrome left to tie into the rotors and exhaust. Also, I would sand lightly your engine fins to further tie in chrome.

My 2 cents. Do you see alot of other bikes around town just like it? I thought not. It's your bike and everybody will know it. I would not paint the carbs. It might look better, but gas and paint do not get along and they will leak sometime somewhere. Leave em be. I like it!

first off "cool as the drool on an eskimo's tool"....LMFAO....too funny.

Carbs look good the way they are "the contrast draws your eye back and forth from engine to carbs to exhaust to frame to engine ...full circle. anyway. bike looks great , be proud and its true people will refer to you in relation to your bike because its NOT every other bike.

well done
