Drouin Supercharged Z1000 project. COMPLETED.

hey zed1015,thanks for the description and the pics.do you have a milling attachment for your lathe?i saw that you said suitably jigged but didn't know if you just used some homebuilt jigs or a milling attachment.
i have noticed that oxy/acet welding is popular with many folks from britain,which can be as strong and nice as tig welding.many planes fly on ox/ac welded air frames.

Like OMR has said 2 times already - fire that thing up, rev it up , and give us some video.

If you can build a hell of a machine like that you have got to be able to give us a video.

Well Done Mate.. now have a couple of drinks. (get it down your neck) to celebrate a fantastic build.

Very impressive work and a fine example of why Kawasaki should reissue a modern version of the old school bikes.

As for video, I'm only on dial up so not possible from here. Will sort that out when i fully complete the build.

I too started out with a Drouin blower in 1979-80 but got ripped off badly by Tom Drouin. Just about everybody who ever dealt with the guy did. Took the money - then never delivered the parts. I understand that the guy was sued off the planet and hammered by the postal inspectors. Consider yourself to be one of only a lucky handful of people who actually got a full kit together. I ended up going with the Magnuson blower and Hilborn injector because of my problems with Drouin.

Congratulations on a spectacular bike !! Looks (and I bet runs) fabulous !!!

Hi,Zippy.Thanks for the compliments. Yeah! i've already seen your bike before on this site (Very nice - always liked the Z1R's) and been in touch with 'supercharged' who has the other Drouin and has given me the answers to one or two questions. Think mine has seen action on a drag bike and was in well used and chopped about condition when i got it, Needed every thread helicoiling and a few mod's to get it useable.Fueling is pretty basic with a Keihin 42mm pumper carb and will find out if it needs something more adjustable once i've given it a ride. Would be nice to track down some spares or enough parts to build another Drouin,sure the bits are out there somewhere?.
