what material to use

continuing my bobber kz550 project, i have a guy who will do the welding, when cutting extra crap and fabbing a hardtail what material should i use to connect the frame by the tank to the swingarm? also should i do anthing special to the inner swingarm before welding it on permanently?

If you are keeping the swingarm bolt I'd swap swingarm bearings out and replace with bushings. May not matter if you weld the swingarm solid at the pivot point, but it won't hurt either.

my choice of material would be 1"o.d.,.065 wall 4130 chrome moly tubing.you could use some 1 1/8"o.d.,.125 wall dom if you want it to look a little chunkier.
