KZ900 with Amen hardtail frame restoration.

Well first things first. The stator is the reason an engine rebuild is needed. It shattered with the previous owner, and messed up the case with the ground up remains while the engine continued to rotate.

Here's a snap of the engine in the frame. I will be pulling the motor tomorrow. I degreased the new case ( Ebay ) and will be stripping off the paint and have it prepped for the internals tomorrow.

You need to be anal about the cleanliness of the block at this point, or your work will not last long if dirt and grit are left behind in your new engine.

I will be running a 4 in 1 Vance and Hines header.

Heads will have a street port and also will be polished.

I have the stock carbs for now, maybe I can get some different ones.

Here's the rear fender.

I took the stock amen fender ( bike had a king queen seat ), and chopped about 10 inches off from it, then welded 3/16 round bar around the edges, and blended it all in. You can see the before paint pic of fender on the whole bike pic above.

I went old school with the paint, heavy metal flake with a pinstripe.

If anyone is interested in paint work, let me know, we may be able to do some bartering as I could use some carbs, etc for my bike.

Thanks, but it looks even better in person. You can see the light over my pool table in the shine of the fender.
