Very beautiful work on the rotor.

Presuming that the forks are identical and properly assembled, perhaps the speedometer drive unit is not assembled quite right. The gearbox that surrounds the axle has two slots inside it. The tubular collar that fits inside the rotor assembly, has two external drive ears on it that fit into the recess in the disc. On the other end there are two little ears that have to be aligned with the slots in the speedometer unit during assembly for everything to work smoothly. If not aligned, it will still go together, but everything is under such stress that the wheel may turn, but not very freely.

Another test might be to remove the brake caliper and then see if the wheel rotates freely. If it turns freely, then the forks must not be aligning the brake caliper properly with the disc.

Just my thoughts.

Oh ya according to the book tighten axel nuts to 60ftlbs so any thing after that would be overtight correct.

The aluminum speedo unit has a steel tubular center to it. This becomes part of the entire assembly that is tightly clamped when the axle nut is tightened. Therefore once the axle nut is tight, then the speedo unit should be clamped tightly as well, and should not move. Before tightening the nut, position the speedo unit such that it is pointing straight toward the speedometer cable. This will prevent a bad angle for the cable housing.

Regarding the collar that inserts into the speedo unit, I prefer to manually slide the speedo unit onto the collar, then turn it until the ears engage into the slots. I do all this with the wheel resting between the forks. Once the speedo unit is properly engaged, I hold it manually into position, along with the spacers on the other side, and then carefully insert entire wheel assembly between the forks. Then slide the axle through.

Good luck.
