kz400 fuel tank help!!!

hello everyone!

i have a 78 kz400 gas tank that is junk. i have found a 76 kz400 gas tank in near perfect condition, for 20 bucks if you can believe it.

my question to you all? does anybody have any idea if the 76 tank would fit on a 78 frame.

From the parts diagrams it looks like it wont. There were two different tanks on KZ400's in 1978 it seems. But if it looks the same, who knows, it might.
