Sold a Katana 600 and the next day got this 1976 kz900 off ebay. Guy didn't ever dust it off before taking the pic!? It has no title so its a parts bike to me. I might have to paint a frame different than black on one of my other bikes as i'm really liking the color matched wheels/frame/bodywork. B) New pics coming after I give it a good spit shine! BTW, any idea on the pipe make?

$495.......:) No carbs but thats ok. Really just wanted the pipe, wheels, damper & fork brace. I'll add it to the rest of the z1/kz parts i've collected. After my pole building is built, my plan is to start building them.

Nice score! Yeah I saw that one too. It's kind of a shame to part it, even for your own use. No title though, not much choice. Looks a little nicer than my KZ when I bought it. It was just a beater bike then. A few bucks and lots of time later...you know the song. Enjoy! - Jim

it is a shame to part it out....are you sure you need a title for a bike that old? in ri, a notarized bill of sale will get you past the hags at the registry on a bike that old....

I'm not 100% sure but think its a PITA here in NJ to get titles. I need to renew my historic reg. soon at the DMV and will ask then.

Post some pics of the headers from different angles, I have a period MAC from that era and there is something that bothers me re the pipe that is unMAC-like.

Some states are easier than others to restore a lost title. It is a shame to part one out that looks that good and appears to be quite close to being a rider, but if it can't be put on the road in your state, watcha-gonna-do? The upside is that each KZ that is parted out makes the others just a little more valuable.

Have you tried to crank it over. I would certainly try to see if you can get it running first before you part it out....Russ
