Newest project
05 Jan 2009 20:08 - 05 Jan 2009 20:09
Went to Chicago from Dayton OH to get this one. Found it on CL for a decent price. Other than needing new paint(not sure if I will stick to the green) It is really a clean bike. The best part is is it came from the original owner and has just under 3700 actual miles! I am really thinking of a copper/metallic green combo on this one.

Runsd real good, and is probably the best riding Z I ever been on. I would think the low original miles is what helped that. It already has a set of tapered bearings in the triple trees too. The green looks good on this side, but a big chunk is missing on the tail piece on the other side, and I did forget about the tear in the seat. All in all, a great 1000, and it was picked up for 800.00, plus the trip to Chicago.

That looks to be a 79 or 80 B model. Nice find for $800.00 Paul I can't wait to see it when you're done with it.

It is a 79! The LTD of 78-79 is my favorite KZ to ride, and my 3rd favorite to just look at. I always liked the Z1R for looks best(obviosuly by the name) and found the 76 900 LTD to be a very close 2nd. I havent yet figured out why I think the 900 LTD is prettier than the 1000 LTD though.

Holy smokes, whoever did that to that bike that Jordan posted should be arrested. Haa I can't believe they took the time to break it down to do the green frame, swingarm, engine etc.... Maybe, it was the guy down the street from me who painted his house blue (were in AZ so blue isn't a popular color choice).
