I'm brand new to this site and to the world of KZ900/1000's.
I recently found this bike in Fairbanks, Alaska where it had been in storage for over 20 years. The guy I got it from raced the bike in the late '70's at a track in Las Vegas. He then stripped the bike in '80 to have the frame bracing done and never put the bike back together. Steering neck and bracing was done by Rob North(have receipts), w/Pierre DesRoches eng. mntg. kit, CalFab s/a, etc.
I used to watch the orig. SBK races at Sear's Pt. and Laguna Seca back in the day and to say I was excited by this find, is a huge understatement!
Anyway, the engine I got with this was junk, so I sourced an '80 KZ1000 motor from a bro and will use a Wiseco 1075 kit w/12:1 cr.,29mm Keihin CR's,Kerker,Accel,Dyna, etc.
I know I'll be using this site a lot as the project moves forward. I've already learned a lot from the forums here.
Any tips/feedback is much appreciated. Jim

This is correct and is a MUST. No pictures then you must leave and not come back! This is the KZ God's rule and you must obey.

Welcome!

ALSO: Go to your profile and update your signature block with the year and model of your bike. Trust me, this will come in handy when your posting questions. The other night creatures will eat you alive if they don't have this information and you ask for help on a problem.

I'm having an impossible time trying to figure out the secrets to using this site. Is there a secret mantra I need to use? Jim

Yes, you must do one of the following.

1) Send each of us a complete 1973 Z1.

2) Send each of us a 1973 Z1 motor.

3) Send each of us a $1000 so we can buy more parts.

4) Or just POST images of your projects.
