so I posted this on the forum when I first got the bike a few years ago. I've made some minor changes lately, I painted over everything, removed the grab bar, and got a duplicate seat, and chopped it down and reupholstered it myself. heres my original thread. kzrider.com/archive/viewthread.php?tid=26556

current pix.

here's how my bike was stock:

here is how it was after my initial modifications (paint and bars):

and here it is in its final stage:

When I chopped the seat, I tried to keep it as close to the pan as possible, still keeping it comfortable. I need to replace the mufflers on it, because they're all rusted out where they meet the headers. Is there just generic exhaust pipes I can get, or do I have to get specific ones for this bike? Theres none currently, and I'm going to need to replace them before I can renew my Pennsylvania safety inspection.

I like the seat and tail modsB)
The bars look awfully low. It looks like it may get painfull.

Are the exhaust rusted through? If not might be worth it to take a wire wheel on a drill to remove the rust and paint it with high temp paint. I saved mine that way and I was sure it was to far gone.:)
I dont't know what is available for your model but if its oout Ebay has it.
A 4-1 would be coolB)

Yeah, its a two cylinder.

The rust has put holes in the bottom of both of the mufflers right where the pipes meet. I'm going to check out this salvage yard: www.ajcyclesalvage.com/Default.asp. to see if I can find something comparable to fit.

The bars are actually upside down and backwards bars from a 70's era cb honda. I'm 6'2" tall, and the cruiser bars originally on the bike were way small... and my knees were constantly in the way.

The ride is actually quite comfortable. Especially now with the new seat set up. I actually ride about 4" lower and maybe 5-6" further back that before, so the length is very comfortable. The hand positioning is a bit off and angled still, but .. I got used to it. I'm gonna look for more bars at that salvage yard too.

I spoke with that ajcycle shop today, and they were not very helpful. They didn't have a kw440 ltd. its not a "U-Pull-It" so they have everything inventoried, but told me they're too busy right now and to call back during off season at the end of the year and maybe they can take a look to see if they have something that might fit. does anyone know of any other salvage pull places for cycles or that have a few cycles in the philadelphia area?

Yea, yea LOL:P
I realised it was a twin right as I hit the submit button but was to lazy to edit.
I guess I got my bikes really on my mind. I do fall a sleep thinking about what to do next to them.
I think I need therapy.
