The shifter was all messed up but I managed to find enough parts to rebuild it.

Nice that bike is probably worth as much as a lot of our KZ's are. Nostalgia commands big money these days.

i remember taking those 5 speed fastbacks and stripping em down to make em fast when we were kids!:laugh: god its been 30 years sincei saw one complete like that!B)

Not a Krate.....they are too expensive to redo. Just a standard Schwinn 5 speed stingray . 1971 model.

My kida and I built a lowrider bike about 10 years ago that had the trike rear end and a stereo in a big box on the back. We took it to every show that summer and won every time. I should get some pics scanned and posted. It was all yellow powdercoat. I love those old Schwinns.
