The entire paint scheme and plan with this bike is black and polished aluminum, with a checkered flag stripe on fenders, tank, side covers.

I am working on a custom rear light set up right now, will post pics when I am done.

This will be a first bike, plus a commuter, plus an occasional two up bike.

I am leaving the stock handlebars on it so far, we shall see if that is the way it stays!

Motor is in, now I need to collect up some more odds and ends!

I'll see if I can scan that section at work Monday, I have the Kaw factory manual. Clymer does not make a manual for the 750 shaft bikes, but Haynes does. Haynes includes them in the regular KZ750 manual they put out.

Okay- I knew clymer had nothing- didn't realize haynes had one though! Is there any difference between the KZ1000 shaft drive and 750 shaft drive other than displacement? I mean, that would screw me up on the installation of the swing arm and such?

Are you asking because you have a 1000 Shaft manual? I put my manual in my saddlebags so I wouldn't forget. I'll scan what I can on the swingarm and shaft areas at work Monday, then I'll try posting them into the Archives so you can grab them.

I'm not familiar with the 1000 Shaft so I can't speak of differences, if there are any. I did a little work on the 750 in regards to the leaky shifter shaft seal. I had to remove the pumpkin, and the drive shaft, in order to remove the bevel case and replace the leaky seal. That's all I know about a shaft drive.

I uploaded a .pdf document in the 1982 KZ750 N1 section; just threee pages that touch on the swingarm, and how to separate the drive shaft from the front attachment.
