Here she is after 36k miles of abuse by me and PO.
I recently bought another in much better shape. So now I finally have a project.
Plans:
Replace rear rotor and pads
Replace front pads
Fix leaking forks
Valve clearance check
New tail light
New airbrushed paint
Find oil leak
Clean the rusty exhaust
and probably more

A PO installed the Mikuni as well as pods and a Bassani pipe. It gets 35mpg compared to 60 stock but she really hauls a$$.

I also quickly painted the plastic cover. It really shows how faded everything else is.

What did you paint the ignition cover with? It looks great and makes me realize how faded mine is.

I guess it really does not matter the make of the carbs as I hope to not have to touch them.
The ignition cover was painted with semi-gloss black rattle can and Testers(model paint)gold.

Anyone recognise these carbs?

They look like Mikuni RS -series. GSXR used to have Mikuni TM´s which are little different. Top-cap faces forward in TM´s and backwards in RS. Either way I think those carbs are really, really powerfull compared to vacuum-carbs.

It matters to every single guy with a single throttle cable KZ 550 who is scared to death of finding parts for their ancient TK 26V's... especially if theres' a bump in power involved... 35mpg beats the crap out of 18mpg from my safari (Holds 1 KZ550 frontloaded with 4" to spare for the taillight).
