79 SR Rat Cafe
12 Apr 2008 10:24 - 12 Apr 2008 20:52
The seat is made from a damaged aircraft spinner, so I cut out what I wanted and welded a seat pan to it. Removed most all signs of electrical stuff and mounted under seat pan. White trash rear sets, cargo pit light for tail light, old Kerker, cheap pods, 77 valve cover, rebuilt carbs w/ 110s and 17.5s, clubmans, and the wheels will be done soon.
I will lower the headlight, (would like an old Ducati bucket), no blinks, and diamond plate chainguard.
It will be a rider this summer as a rat, then I will tear it down again this next winter. I have a KZb tank I am modding for knee knockouts.
It is painted carbon black poly.

I have special spokes from Buchannon to allow me to install my rear rim (18" x 2.15) onto my front hub. I am leaning toward Dunlops. A 120 will give it a "Exile" look. Dual discs with spokes, very retro.

I made the seat from a damaged aircraft spinner. The guy who did the upholstery is one of the best...

Nice job Aesop, looks great. Good job on hiding the electrical, so are still going to use the side pieces or leave it open? Love the shifter, pretty neat, may have to steal you ideas when I get to making my rearsets.
Also, what is an aircraft spinner. Do you have a pic of it before you started modifying it for the seat?
Great work.

White trash or not, that's some fine workmanship, Aesop. Nice project. Looking forward to seeing some pics of it shining in the daylight.
