where do i start? she is a 78 kz900 motor, the frame is a kz1100, i used this cause i intend to put a big bore kz1000 motor in some day, plus the frame needed no gusiting or bracing cause its a sturdy frame as is, i chopped 5" off the rear and welded a brace in, split the lower end by cutting the center stand cross bar out and spreding the frame with a jack until tis 1 1/4" wider so i could fit the swing arm in, then welding 2 more cross braces in top and bottom one for the lower link and the other for the top of the shock, the lower sections of the frame spine wer cut off and re welded back in at a diferent angle to fit the kz750 tank on, the font and rear ends are cbr900rr, i got them at easy money plus it looks good on her, im tring to keep a classic look to her as much as possible, the tree pin of the cbr was machined so the bearings of the kz1100 would fit snug on them. new motor mounts wer made and thats where i am right now, iv been working on my 75z1 for the last 8 weeks more than her but im putting all my efforts into her now, a few problems still have to bo ironed out. iv now camera right now, i droped it at the toronto hot rod show ahmmmm.......

When you used a jack to spread the frame, how could you be sure that both sides moved equal amounts? Is it possible that one half bent 1" while the other only took 1/4"?
I am wondering how to do something like that and insure precision?

we used a car jack like this one and cut so that the surface areas wer the same on both sides.
before we cut the frame we put the jack into place and applied a little preasure with it so when we took the piece out it didn'nt warp, then i measured the exact middle of the frame dropped a sting with a weight attached and as we opened the jack a small bit a time we measured the distance from each side of the frame to the string. we welded in the replacement brace before taking off the jack. there is a small diference to either sice but its onlt an 8th 0f an inch, figured it was an exceptibal varient. my biggist problem now is the swingarm axel holes are at a slightly dipped angle, this is the only head scracher im faced with, any ideas out there?

can u heat the area and put a bar in the axle hole and bend it back to square?u will need a longer axle .maybe u could rebore it true, and large for a bigger axle?
