i have 78 kz 1000 and want to do a ballsy cafe conversion. sure the cb's are an easier convert but the kz will be the best of both worlds.
www.cb750cafe.com this guy does some nice stuff with the hondas and would like to do similar with the kz's.
new tank, new rear end/cafe seat and spoke conversion. thats right getting rid of the old lesters. Any help would be great. Web links for resources and so on. I have done plenty of homework already but have plenty more to do before i start.
Thanks Heavy- Z

Steve Carpenter has a nice web site for the 750 Hondas also sells nice parts that could be used on a kawasaki , I bought my stripes from him ,, They are high quality but expensive ,, There are several cafe bikes on KZR in different stages , Scumbbags turned real nice based on a KZ650 ,, I also have one in the stage of Middle you might say , Look in Projects under cafe shoe based on a KZ750 Twin ,, Might gain some ideas from looking around the projects section of this site .. Luck and keep us posted with lots of pictures ,, Shoeman

Check out some cafe sites, such as:
Do The Ton
.
They have sections on tanks & seats, rear-sets and other helpful sections.
Here are some pix of Claude's KZ1000 on that site: KZ1000 .
