Kingcobra, I have been seriously thinking of selling off the rest of the parts bike .... but something tells me ... not yet. So stay tuned .... lol

Gringo, yeah I know ... it was sunny when I started but by the time I took the pics it looked like a typical Ohio early spring day ... overcast:( And yeah ... you have a great collection going !!! Your 81 LTD deserves your attention !!! But the new 650 is nice too ! Andy I only heard the new exhaust few a couple of seconds. The over-reving thing scared the hec out of me and I shut her down. What I heard mostly was me saying Oh Sh_t !!!!

Shoe ... help !! I not only need you to come over for a meet and greet ... I need some help with my over-reving condition. I can't find the problem. I'm thinking maybe something got jarred stuck open or closed when Becca ran over my bike. I'll shoot you a PM right away.

Thanks guys for your responses ! I'm pretty proud of what I've done with this old bike and am already dreaming/scheming, LMAO, for the next one :woohoo:

Took my first test ride last evening !!! Awesome !!! I can't wait for a really nice day to take her out for a good shake down ... nice weather's comin' soon I hope

I still have some minor issues ... tail light isn't working, gauge backlighting isn't working and my right front signal quit working ... all this stuff WAS working ... lol. I'm sure I just pulled some connectors loose when installing the headlight. So I'm still tinkering B)

Once I get the little stuff done I need to give her a good wash and wax and then I can get some good "finished" photos and put a close to this project thread .... it's been fun !!!;)

Glad to hear you are in the wind again Dale and I second your opinion of Shoe. I bought a 550 engine and some other parts from him a couple of years ago, first class guy.

I may be back at work on my 750 very soon since the 650 is getting real close to being done. I fired it up yesterday and other than being way too loud it sounded good. I'm trying to convince myself to spring for a shiny new Vance and Hines like you bought. I'm just having a hard time wrapping my brain around the fact that the header will cost me more than the bike did.:S

WOW ... finnally some nice weather !!! I got the old girl out for a 50 mile shake down run Sunday and everything seems OK. I believe I can get the engine running a little better but it's running good enough right now. I still have to do my Post Build clean up on the KZ ... but now that's what rainy days are for ...lol

Hey Dale,
Looks like you did a real nice job. I'm glad to see that nice chrome finally in the sunlight. Kinda makes everything pop when the sun shines on it, don't it?
