Making good headway on my bike today despite the "Blizzard of '08" !!! Taper roller bearings installed and front forks back on. She'll be back to rolling by days end. I'm sure I'll have a few more pics to post :woohoo:

She's back on both wheels !!! Tank and side covers from my parts bike for effect only .... lol

Show chrome OEM buckhorns and new/used case guards installed.

Bars at a different angle ... I think I like this better.

Drivers view of factory buckhorns. Look at that keroscene salamander blazin' !!! After about 6 hours it got my 32X40 barn all the way up to 57 degrees !!!

And that's what all I got done today in the shop ... but I'll be over the kitchen sink with my old headlight bucket and related parts trying to get them up to snuff this evening ... and then in front of TV with my chrome polish and rags later yet .... this must be a labor of love .... my wife and kids and freinds all think I'm going nuts

I added a neat little custom touch to my bike. I replaced the damaged fork cover/emblem with a gold letter cover from a Spectre. It's a little beefier than the stocker and the mounting holes were different but I just made up a couple little brackets and .... this is what it looks like.

WOW .... getting real close to done !!!! All I have left to do is drill out a exhaust stud so I can hang my V&H exhaust. And wait for my tank and gauges to come back from paint .... which should be Monday. Then mount up the guages and headlight ... plug all the wiring back in and .... WOOHOOO .... ready to ride !!!

I agree. I also shifted my bars back on my bike to be in line with the forks....think it looks alot better.

Thanks guys !!!

rdgrnr chromed my handlebars, sissybar and side plates and front fender ... his work is phenominal and really makes my bike look great ! The crappy pics don't do the chrome any justice ... Thanks Dave !!!

Link14, yeah, the bars look better matching the fork angle. A bit more comfortable as well.
