Decided to have a go at making my own ducktail. Its for my 900 but i have thrown the body work on one of my 1000s to see what it looks like. I still have a lot of work to do, but what do you think?

I'm liking it. B)
Is that a Rickman fairing?

Having one myself, I've been thinking my rearend needs a change. I've been leaning towards a solo seat with tail, like the H2R seat from Airtech. I just did a mok up last night on Photoshop to see how it looks, but have the pic at home.

I'd like to be able to swap to a two up seat fairly easy, as my 13 year old son has liked to ride with me sometimes.

How about some info on how you made yours? and more pix. B)

Yea mate, its a rickman 3/4 fairing. I started by sitting a 900 duck tail on the pillion part of the seat and made the rest of the shape up with chicken wire and paper mache then took a mould of it. It didnt look very good so I have added bits and taken bits off a 1000 times. I have never done fibreglass work before and made a few mistakes. The duck tail it self is fully inclosed and will hold gloves, wet weather gear and the like. I will take a few more picks and see if I can find some old progress shots

Here's that photoshopped H2R seat I'm thinking about.
Only thing is I just found a '82 GPz1100 for sale, and may put some money towards it now.
