What else would YOU do to this?

Ok - so...
I don't REALLY want to take apart the engine here, because with my level of technical ability, it would never go back together again.
BUT, if this were your bike - what else would you do to it? Go crazy, I'd like to hear... and maybe I'll even attempt some of it if it doesn't look TOO bad.

If it were mine?
Ditch the windshield, the crash bar, the seat, and do a pseudo cafe racer. A set fo clip-ons, drag bars, or superbike bars, depending on taste, a fiderglass cafe seat pan, a a general smoothing over.

Paint or strip and polish the lower front fork tubes. Since you got rid of the gold covers on the motor the gold lower tubes don't match anymore. JMHO.

I thought about that - but the rims actually are still that awkward gold color, so the lower tubes DO match the rims. You just can't see it in that side photo. Can I buy gold engine hardware? That'd be cool.

I'm with Lillysdad. Cafe that thing. Loose the bars for some drag bars, through away those cheesy mirrors. Get a chrome exhaust system and a cooler seat. And the windshield.... Thats a no brainer.

Save your money and buy another bike! That one's done and is ready to be ridden and admired!

That last bit is the best advice yet. I like the windshield and the crash bars... I wouldn't ride any kind of crotch rocket bike or cafe racer style if you paid me! I like to be comfy, and yet big enough to blow by anyone that thinks they're hot shit

If you wanted to cafe' out a KZ750, an "E" model would be a better canididate. The frame, front forks and overall steering geometry on the Spectre models aren't all that awe inspiring for hitting the twisties on.
Just my 0.02 worth here.

Hmmm... Thats funny. I thought the original question was, "if this were YOUR bike, what would you do to it?"
And if thats the case, the answer is ALWAYS the same. CAFE IT! I want an old goldwing to cafe for goodness sakes!
