I don't post much but infact this is my very first post. Well after three long long years I finely started my SR650 about 2 hours ago and MAN it was awesome she still needs a little touching up to do but she purrs great and don't ask why it took me three years to get the SR running one word would describe why and that is I was whipped.

If you would like to see her, steell took some pics. this afternoon posted them in of course projects and she would be the purple SR650. :)

Welcome to KZR. I just looked at it before I looked at this post and I like it. The GPZ 750 motor must surprise people.

Bout time you posted!!

I figure another 3-5 years and the new one will be running

In case anyone is wondering, gpzinfested is my Nephew, and I have a License to pick on him

By the way, what do you mean "purrs"? Did you sneak a pair of ear plugs out of my truck when I wasn't looking? :D

I think it has a Kerker on it, and I know it doesn't have a baffle in it, and it was running "inside" the garage/shop. I believe I'd call it a BELLOW, rather than a purr :D

It made my ears hurt, but it did have a really good sounding bark to it :)

In case no one noticed, I resigned from being a Mod, but Stein missed removing me from being a Mod in the Projects Forum, so I snuck in and added a pic to his post :)

Welcome.

Good to hear you've got the bike running and ready to go. Have fun and ride safely.

Looks blue on my computer.

Now get out on a nice day, and take that Uncle with you, on his own bike of course, and enjoy a nice cruise together. B)

Ewwww...second time I've looked at this picture, but first time I noticed the ghost flames...niiiiice. Guess I was too caught out by the GPz motor.

Also, Steell is right...the 'nephew' thing does give legal right to a verbal smack-down now and again.

...so, who's bike is the gixxer-suspended/tail sectioned-future-J-motored-lightweight-latemodel-sportbike-bitchslapper-thingy???...

...I'm hopin' it's Uncle Steell's as I don't wanna wait another 2 years to see that one finished

The bike is blue/purple :)

The GSXR suspended KZ650 is GPzInfested's, he is young, single, lives at home, and has very little in the way of expenses, so he can afford to build the bike, I can't.
I just contribute knowledge, skills, parts, and moral support (I nag him a lot) to help him get it done :)

The bike actually looks a lot better when seeing it, the pic doesn't do it justice.

Also, Steell is right...the 'nephew' thing does give legal right to a verbal smack-down now and again.

And a "Moral" right, his Dad and I raised him, I probably spent more time with him than his Dad did :D

Ummm, I think that's 27 years or so Wireman!
I see you're in no hurry...
The primer looks ok. ;)
Was it blue back in the day?

I got so involved harassing wireman, that I forgot to say: Nice work gpz infestation nephew of the steell...the SR looks really nice, even if it was a long time coming. Good work and you should really enjoy that bike. :)

well I took the Bike out this morning for a test drive and man I am definitely satisfied with the motor swap well worth the struggle I think. I just put a new (used) brake master cylinder on the bike from a GPZ1100 I found the old one leaking after the test ride I figured I'd better change it.:) I finished putting it back together and the night before Steell and I decided to take the bikes to the cookout the next day needless to say I had to ride SOLO:laugh: I rode my bike to the cookout and Steell followed me in the pick up with the straps and the loading ramp in the back just in case of break down. It didn't take me long to get to the cookout place but man was it expensive it cost me a $119.50 (that almost $10.00 a mile). I got a ticket on the way:evil:
