79 LTD 1000 was created by henrymski
Hey all, I've been absent quite a while from the forum, but not from the KZs. My 80 MkII streetfighter is progressing at a glacial pace (for reasons too numerous to list! ), but I've been working on a 79 LTD 1000 project that requires quite a bit less thought and $$.
This is what it looked like when I bought it:
The PO had rebuilt the topend, and a lot of the bike isn very good shape. Odd places are junk, like the igniter/regulator area and the gas tank.
This is what it looked like during disassembly:
This is what it looks like now:
Eagle-eyed viewers will note the aluminum swingarm and the presence of two frames. There was no title for the bike so I bought a titled frame from Turbo and am in the process of swapping over. I picked up the GS aluminum arm for obvious reasons. I also have a set of these to go in up front:
and a set of these for the front brakes:
I will be running 29 smoothies and a Kerker 4:1, both of which I had lying around waiting for a bike.
That's where it stands right now. I hope to finish by the end of July, but we'll see....
Edit: Formatted pics to fit forum. - Nate

I have a 1977 that looks about in the same shape...but I lack a nice set of carbs, kerker, trick swingarm, and the quality brakes...and I have no foreseeable finish date...  Yours should be sweet when completed:)
