So, in September of last year I got a kz650 off eBay for $600. It did not run and had been in the rain a while.

She was a hot red head and you could tell she had a temper.

So after a couple of rides, I decided the hardtail had to go. I got some LTD shocks, some mirrors and a new front tire. Then I replaced whatever that seat was with a KZ750 foam and cover on the 650 seat pan. If you watch the pics, you will see the homebrew welds are everywhere.

It added a bit of height and comfort for a while. I still needed the handling to be more OEM. I am was tired of scraping my chrome header. no worries, it will be flat black soon enough.

Take a look at the subframe here. Notice the smooth section on the well. That spot was smotther than a babys ass. It had a axle mount plate that got shaken/knocked off. I wish I had measured the ride height with the hardtail and with the ext swingarm/shocks setup. The ext is 24" making it 4" over stock. Was really nice when she ton'd.

Side cover note.....I sure miss them. She was such a rough ride she must have shaken them off. My kinda red head.
