my z650 redone

here is my z650 that was redone by my son this past winter. when i brought this bike home it was blue. then it was a spray bomb black, and then a spray bomb green. this time my son spent the time and worked something out with the body shop guy to paint it if he would work it off. the other parts i had somewhere and he found them and put it together as you see.

it is a 79 kz650 mix. has a d engine, c frame and b title. the front end is off a kz1000 police bike. so it now has 130mm by 18" front and rear.

Bike looks great. But a quick question-where did you get those rear shocks-Mike's XS?

The police front end looks fab on there and I've always liked orange too. Nice work by the boy. B)

my oldest boys are almost 16. they are ready to go as soon as they get a blessing from mom. they have to prove not to be as stupid as their dad was when i was their age. mom is working on the idea.

as far as the shocks, i dont remember where they came from. maybe mikes xs?

Looks GREAT. Your son did a great job on the 650. All of you should be proud.

Looks great man, is that 18" on the front originally a rear rim?

I like the colour combination. Done with good taste and neatly too. The windshield looks great as well...almost makes me wanna get one for my 650 ('79).

Congrats.

the 18" front is a kz1000p wheel, think that is the way they pretty much come. the only thing i didnt get with that set up was the brakes. i ended up having to switch the rotors from stock 650 wheel to the 1000 rim. the 1000 rotors where bigger. i did that switch last year. the boys just like the look so that is why it stayed. if i had a set of usd i would bet they would be on there.
