Newest Project with pics

Well I really didn't need another project but I bought one anyway. I think this is an 83 KZ750L3 I found it on ebay. From the description it seems as though the previous owners genius son took it apart and never put it back together. Judging from the pics it would appear as though he started to do a valve adjustment and either decided he was in over his head or just never finished it. The current owner contacted the PO and managed to round up some of the various bits that were missing (carbs, cam cover, cam caps, one of the side covers etc. The bike is only showing 11,000 miles and looks to be in pretty good overall condition. Worst case scenario I have an engine from a 750 GPZ sitting on my front porch that I can throw in it.

It will be a little while before I can go to get it since I'm leaving for Cali, Colombia on Friday to get married and I'll be out of the country for 10 days. This is gonna drive me nuts while I'm gone wondering just what all is missing on this bike.

I almost bid on this bike last night! I live about 160 miles from it. How much did you end up getting it for?
Seems like a good find to me. Congrats!

Yep keep your mind on the marriage or you will be seeing a divorce real soon in the future. Link up with one of your closest Kzr's and let them take care of it for you and you take care of the wife

Thanks for all the kind transportation and storage offers guys. Bidding on this thing turned out to be a real PITA, I'd been watching this thing for 5 days and up till last night there had been no bidders. I had planned to snipe this thing at the last second, well as fate would have it my ISP's server decided to go down last night and they were not going to get it up until after the auction closed. I really wanted this thing, so I went next door and bid on it from my neighbor's computer about 45 min before it was ending. I put in a bid of $325 and just had to say, oh well if I get it I get it. I went to bed last night not knowing if I won it or not. I got up this morning and after logging on found out the bid held up and I wound up getting it for $305.00

As to my thinking about the bike while on my honeymoon, I'm thinking that while the Gov. official is saying "Do you take this woman" I'll be standing there thinking "I wonder if the cam chain tensioner is in that box of parts?"

Can any of you tell from that first pic what brand of header that is?
