Salute!

Very nice site guys, There seem to be alot of serious Z-heads here. The number of these bikes some of you list in your sigs is unreal. I'm in Valdosta, GA (almost to FLA on I-75) and recently picked up an E-1 ST (the date on the stem is 9-79 so it must have been one of the last that year.)
I had been waiting on the shop to tell me they had my ironhead sportster tranny back togther when I heard about an old Kaw that was taking up space in someone's shed. That old Harley has a alot of character and really runs well but the drum brakes have the kind of stopping power that inspires bad dreams and an involuntary eye twitch. So I was pleased to see not one, not two, but three big disk brakes gracing the KZ. After I pushed the bike to the trailer I knew why. But I figured the big lump of Kaw ought to push it around nicely still. At least I didn't have to lube the chain. So I liberated it for 4 bills and got a couple of Lab puppies thrown in!
It needed plugs, the carbs cleaned and a new front tire. It still needs an ignition pickup. But I look forward to riding it when it runs on all 4!
