Newbie; my KZ's
09 Oct 2006 22:03
Hi
Am new to KZ's and motorbikes in general. I bought a 1980 KZ440LTD last year but it's still in hospital - needs a complete engine overhaul.
Bought a 1981 Z1000J with GPz1100 head, Cowley pipe, etc. just two weeks ago. Quite a handful!!
Heading over to the Brakes Forum - am busy replacing brake pads on the Z1000 and need some help.
Cheers

The other bike - in very bad shape at the moment - probably best placed in the projects forum........
Big-end bearings bust, exhaust header bolts stripped out, bored oversize twice already. Gearbox, clutch, electrical, etc. in good condition.

Welcome herman8r! It is interesting to note the differences in styling in models that were released on different sides of the big pond. In North America, the 1981 J model has a different look (primarily due to a different fuel tank)
