1st KZ - Help?
08 Oct 2006 20:15
I picked up an 82 KZ750r a few months ago. I rebuilt the motor and now that I got it put back together, and can't get her to run. I have good compression, but when I pulled the plugs they were dry. I have no manual, so I am not sure that the carbs are set right, or that I have the vacuum system hooked up right. Can you shed any light? Thanks.

strip down the carbs
give them a good clean.
no fuel is getting through the jets
mine was the same after sitting for 10 yrs
also make sure fuel is leaving the tank
check tap isnt blocked and pipe isnt kinked or pinched.

X,
Get a manual, best 10 bucks you'll ever spend.
Your bike needs fuel, air and a spark to turn over. These are all pretty easy to check out.
You can saturate the air filter with starting fluid and see if it starts. If it does, you have a fuel delivery problem in your carb.
You can turn it over with one spark plug removed and near the engine block. If you don't see sparks, you have an electical problem.
Good luck.

yeah, where can i get a manual for $10?
Put starting fluid right into the cylinder, if there is carb issues, soaking the air filter won't help much.
