New KZ Member with his first bike and it was technically free!!!

Hi to everyone here on the KZrider forums. My name is Chris and I just acquired my first bike..at least since I was a little kid shooting around my parents place on a dirt bike. I've been reading through the posts around here this week as I just got my bike last Saturday and I am pumped about learing from all the great minds around here. Right now my bike is at my inlaws in Oklahoma but its ready to be picked up when I get to town next week..and as for the getting a bike for free part well, I traded a guy in Tulsa his 1977 Kawasaki KZ750 B for my old 1976 Invader Intruder boat that I had replaced for a newer and bigger model about 3 years ago. Boat had been sitting in my parents backyard and they were ready to see it leave and I was ready to get a bike. My wife is excited that I found a bike and I am ready to ride. I have alot to learn about riding in general and about my new baby so feel free to teach me!!

welcome to z-jungle,is that a 750 twin or four?

I have no idea. Hopefully if I can get these pics uploaded then someone can tell me.. I'm really a complete novice at this.

Welcome Chris. You will soon find out that the vast majority of us KZers are really a bunch of f*cknuts. We do have some fun though. Your bike is a twin- two cylinders, two carbs, two exhaust headers, etc. Some 750's are 4 cylinder models. (The twins are way cooler)

Anyway, I just made a deal with an old guy about an hour or so north of me- he's got a '78 KZ 750 (twin!) that he says is too big for him. ( He is 79) He wants to trade the 750 and a guitar for my 440. My son and girlfriend both used the 440 as a first bike, but now feel it is too small so it is just sitting around. The old timer said the 750 runs fine, just needs some cosmetic work. I have been looking for something that I can mess with- ie, paint, bob, whatever... I couldnt bring myself to do that to the bikes I have now as they are too close to original. What the heck I'm going to do with a guitar, I dunno. Anybody round here want a "nearly brand new "Galveston" Jumbo Acoustic Cutaway 6 string guitar, black, flattop." Or at least tell me if it is worth trying to sell. I could do like Belushi in "Animal House" and smash it..
