K&N Pod filters with outer exhaust baffle removed

I am new to motorcycle riding. I bought my 79 kz650 from someone I used to work with. He gave me the pods and the airbox boots he was going to put on. This bike needed some work. I have not found the sweet spot for tuning this. I have tried looking for many solutions but have no came up with any. My mid and high rpm range are good, im just having trouble with idle. Does anyone know where I can get good carb holders with vacuum ports? Also, does anyone know how to tune these? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

If cheap pods they will probably block idle circuit air jets, you will need air corrector jets to stop off idle stumbling and improve low end running, chances are with a bike hitting 50 years old the stock jetting is not in the carbs so will possibly need going through and checking.

I believe im up to 120 with main and 20 with pilot jet. Could be one size up. I am running k&N pod filters which are not cheap. I do have cheap boots and was thinking last night about using threaded brass petcock so the nipple doesnt keep coming off and provides me a better seal. Im fighting with alot of issues with my bike right now. I just replaced the starter clutch 2 days ago. Im getting hanging idle and when idle drops to 1k, it likes to die.

Your main jet is massive for a stock 650 with only pods and what looks like a stock exhaust (avatar pic)

You need to drop the mains to #110 and put the pilots back to #15's then see if that helps. Your way too rich at #120/20 and it sounds like your sucking air in (hanging idle) so you need to find the leak path.

It is a stock exhaust but I cut the very outside baffle out. It seemed to run way better with the pod filters off. Also. I raised my needle position up 1 notch.
