Howdy folks first time post. I bought a KZ1000 1982 LTD a few months back. Working on the carbs and I am in need of the nylon washer that fits in the circular recessed spot in picture here. It sits in the recessed spot in center of photo. Does anyone know the size of this washer or where to get a match? Should I just take one that I have from the other carbs to a hardware store and just get a close match? I overlooked these washers and one fell out and I can’t locate. Just being honest lesson learned. I can’t find any info on this particular washer online anywhere. The carb is a Mikuni (pretty sure BS34). Thanks in advance!

I assume you are talking about the one at the top of your pic? the bottom one is copper and sits under the main jet. A plastic washer will be fine, just make sure it's the right thickness or your float bowl will leak (original part is NLA) While you have the carbs apart you might want to reach out to member Nessism - he supplies "O" ring kits for these which are a perfect fit (I just fitted a set)
Also I see you are running pods, you might want to reach out to member Zed1015 - he supplies "air corrector jets" which are required for it to run right with these filters

Great! Thanks and yes I’m talking about the nylon/rubber washer that sits in the shallow circular hole directly above the pilot jet in pic. Might be called a float bowl support gasket washer. I’ll go by the hardware store tomorrow find a match. All I have are aluminum washers at my place and I know not to use those.

Thanks for the heads up about the pods as well. I’ll reach out to the precious owner to see if he had it re jetted for the pods or not. He had been riding it as is so I’m not sure if he did that or not. You could be right though because bike will not start.

When I first got the bike it was running fine. The seller drove it to my place and was running fine. Next day I went out cranked it up but left the choke pulled out too long and the bike died. I have never been able to get it to restart. Figured it flooded so I replaced the spark plugs. Still doesn’t crank up. Gas is getting to all four of the bowls. If I take the air filter pods off and spray starter fluid into the carbs the bike cranks and runs for about 10 seconds and then dies. Which from what I understand, it’s a carburetor problem, which is why I’m cleaning it. It’s just weird that it died the very next day and wouldn’t start back up.
