Converting 82 KZ550 LTD to dual front discs

Hi Folks, What would it take to convert my 82 550 LTD C3 to have dual discs like a Z550 LTD? I didn't even know that a Z550 LTD existed till I saw a picture of one with dual front discs and wondered why my bike wasn't that way. Is this conversion even worth the effort? Would I need a front wheel from a z550, the caliper, the rotor and then the lines? It looks as though the forks I have already has a mounting provisions for a caliper.

The original master cylinder is likely 14mm, and dual disc front masters are typically 5/8" or 16mm.  You will need another brake line also.  Some people like to run two separate lines from the master to each caliper, that means you need a longer banjo bolt.  Or, add the line splitter under the headlamp.  You have options.

the 550-Ltd front disk should have 7 bolts. in which case the wheel is single disk only.

The single disc system is strong enough to lock the front wheel. Do you need more than that? If you are road racing or spending a lot of time fully loaded (a passenger and heavy luggage) or regularly riding very aggressively in the mountains, a dual disc system is mostly a cosmetic choice.
