Let me get this right, your 16 and get to ride a 250cc straight away. Don't you guys need to take a test or anything in Canada and the US, How does that work? Here in the UK its becoming increasingly difficult for new riders to get a full licence and get on the road! Let alone start talking about countersteering!

Fourtoes..I took a 2 day motorcycle safety course and had to pass the skills part in the course. When I did that successfully I was able to take the Missouri state written test after showing the card indicating I had passed the skills part.Passed the written and I'm licensed to ride a motorcycle.

I dig the bike and I'm sure you'll have fun riding it. Just be safe and be attentive to everything that's going on around you - there's still a ton of idiots out there that don't pay close enough attention to riders.

Nice looking bike, I'll bet before long you'll be hungering for somthing a bit bigger, but riding the 250 for atleast a couple years will give you time to learn the finer points of riding and wrenching. You want to make your early-riding mistakes on a smaller, lighter, less free-spirited bike. If it starts taking up a mind of its own, its easier to remind it who's boss, or pick it back up when it decides to declare war and make you get to know the pavement on a first name basis.
