Hello from Ireland
06 Aug 2025 14:39
Hello all
newbie 1st post reporting for duty!
Thanks for letting me in. Have owned a few aircooled Kawasaki in the 80’s & 90’s with a water cooled one also and have now recently treated meself to a1995 1100 Zephyr.
Its all original except for short arse Maxton rear shocks leaving me no choice but to put the concentric chain adjusters through 180 degrees to gain some ride height. Pretty good condition for its age with blistered lacquer on the wheels.
Im a Jack of all trades and a master of none who loves bikes it’s as simple as that.
An Englishman living in the Republic of Ireland whose escaped the madhouse known as London.
Looking forward to getting advice and hopefully offering it
cheers

Welcome to KZRider...Zephyrs are very nice but have never had a chance to own one. I might have a chance to visit Ireland in October this year...probably Dublin.

Welcome aboard!
I think the Zephyr 1100 is one of the best looking bikes Kawasaki has made.

Cheers Michael,
If you do make it over try not to spend your entire visit in Dublin, time allowing of course.
Many beautiful places to see around the country other than the capital city.

Cheers TexasKZ
I’m quite taken with it, even with an 18” front wheel 🙂

Thanks Wookie,
some of the Irish roads are just class 🙂
like me this bike was originally in the UK until someone from Kerry imported it a few years back.
a few bits of tidying required starting with caliper paint & wheels, having said that it is 30 years old.
just riding it for the summer before the tinkering begins.
