I hope I'm doing this right excuse me if I'm not. My bike is a 1984 zn1100 . I'm in dire need of a igniter 21119-1071. I've been burned twice on eBay. I can't at this moment bust out $350 for a new one.I picked up a 700 Vulcan somebody was parting out
And it has the igniter in pickup still on it is there any way I can adapt that instead. I hope it's not is silly question. Much appreciated any help. Also I did build the GM mod but wasn't getting any spark. I also did hook up that igniter off the 700 but seem to only get I believe one and four was firing. I've had this bike for 3 months it's a beautiful bike and I still haven't rode it. If anybody can help me out it'd be great I have plenty of parts for a 700 it's 1985 Vulcan I'll be willing to trade swap give if if that can help anybody
. I seem to always get directed back to kzrider which I absolutely love what everybody's done here I've learned a lot and I wouldn't have been able to get this far without y'all. Like I said I hope I'm doing this right otherwise I completely and lost again I need a  igniter for 1984 zn1100. And no I cannot afford a Dana s please tell me there's another option. Thanks a lot

the vn700 is a twin. the ignition timing is going to be different. built into the circuitry. try opening one of the zn1100 spares to take a look. problem could be bad capacitors. or it could need some re-soldering. or need gunk removal.

As I see it you have a couple of options depending on budget (swopping the igniter from a different model may cause "flat spots and poor throttle response as the advance/retard map is built into the igniter)
You could have the original unit repaired (in the UK this is around $200)
You could do the reverse of what I am dong with my build - fit a engine cover and mechanical advancer from an earlier model then use a "copy" Dyna-S (many guys on here are running them without issues and they are approx $60 on ebay) I have shown the advancer and cover below which are pretty generic so should be obtainable for sensible money.
Just out of interest - before you spend your money how have you diagnosed the igniter as being faulty ?
