81 kz305 pistons

Hey everyone, this is my first post here. I recently got a 1981 kz305 that had been sitting for 20+ years in a shed. Long story short it ran and drove with simple maintenance, but severely lacked power. I eventually figured out it needed the valves to be redone bcuz of rust and carbon buildup on the seats, and i figured i might as well do the rings while I'm at it, and I had found a relatively cheap ring kit for it. When I went to take it apart, part of the piston in between the two compression rings just fell apart. The piston and cylinder walls also had scoring, and it is going to need new pistons. After a few hours of scouring I have come up with the conclusion that pistons for this bike are almost impossible to find. Does anyone have any ideas as to where I could get some at a reasonable price? What are my options here? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I feel for you 305 lovers, because it seems like there are constant engine problems with those bikes.  And now, modern times, parts are quite scarce.  Honestly, even if you fix the engine, based on reports I keep reading here, there is no guarantee that it will stay reliable.  Don't feel bad about cutting bait, and parting that sucker out.  Put the money gained into a newer and more reliable bike.

Or just maybe. What is center of hole to top on the stock piston?
