New owner of old Zephyr and GPZ in So-Cal high desert

I’m Aaron and I messed up and posted things out of order.  Here to do due diligence and say “Hey”.  A while ago I finally bought a 1991 Zephyr 550.  It took me 10 years to find one.  I’ve been noodling on it a little a time and riding occasionally.  Something about the        little purple 550’s has always made it a bike that I like looking at.  More recently I also bought an ‘81 GPZ550.  It’s another bike that I’ve always wanted.  This one is a bit more rough but I’m enjoying my coffee and garage time with it. No real hurry.
Other than these, I’ve played with motor stuff a bit in the past.  Crew on 410 Sprint cars, Pro Formula Mazda, Super Vee, and misc roadrace gear. Done a ton of desert Class 10 stuff by prepping other guys’ cars and earning ride as a navigator. Bicycles are fun and I ride them as much as I can. My current activity is mostly paddling SUP and OC1.  I’m kind of known for doing big long open water stuff and some fun downwinding around So-Cal
For work, believe it or not, I’m a high school woodshop teacher.  It’s a long story how I ended up here,  ur it’s a pretty rad gig and kids are just like we were when we were the same age. We get along pretty well.

We have a lot in common. I also have a Zephyr 550, professionally I’m a bicycle mechanic, and I’ve never been a wood shop teacher, but I am a luthier. Welcome to the forum!

Right on.  Luthiers are an entire breed to themselves.  Such incredible work. Looking forward to learning from everyone around here.  I used to be a member of a bunch of boards, “back in the day”.  It’s nice to see that they are still around. wrote: We have a lot in common.
