possible clone

Hey, i'm David and i'm new to the group. I have some questions about a bike I found. I've found a 78 kz1000 and the frame has the reflectors on the forks, rear shocks and it has the round brake light. Has  someone tried to make it look like and earlier 900? I've checked the vins and it looks to be a 78 kz1000 made in the US. thanks Guys

Certainly sounds like it. 
The cc's is stamped on the lower rh front of the block. 
Upload a picture as the 900 and 1000 are totally different bikes. 
Lots of bikes had parts swopped about back in the early days due to availability and cost just to keep em on the road.
My footer pictures has both my 75 900 & 77 1000 for comparisons.
