Hello,
Name is Denny and I like to rebuild bikes as a hobby. I have a 1977 KZ650B1with C1 wheels...lol.

Having issues with my electrical wiring as previous owner liked to cut wires. Please see the pics on the bike and what is missing on the side pics with covers off.

Regards
Denny

Welcome Denny, welcome to KZRider.  There are many amateur motorcycle electricians out there...and they love to cut wires.

There are some differences between the electrical systems on the B1 and C1 models. As I understand the B1 did not have the hazard flasher that the C1 did have. Both made use of a turn signal flasher. The C1 also had dual element front turn signal/running lights, that the B1 did not have.
If you have not as of yet pulled down wiring diag for either model you will find them in the filebase, under fours/650/elect

Welcome.

To me that looks like a legit C1, it has the really thick rear master tab/bracket. If it was a B frame you would only weld a thin tab on there. I have seen that type of conversion on more that one frame and done it myself. Kawasaki did not want loose spacers for some reason so a thicker tab had to do.

It is possible that the frame has been re stamped to a clean B model VIN with papers. I have also seen this a few times as well. That thick tab is a tell tale sign, nothing wrong with it, happens all the time. It also looks like you have a 1980 model front brake splitter cover.

You can research different 650 models on this web site :

www.jarlef.no/Kawasaki/Series/Z/650/Z650C.htm

You should look at getting a proper steel front fender as the forks need it to be rigid enough to take corners correctly.

Welcome from Canada.

I'm with Alex, above, that you probably have a C1 model.

What is the VIN # stamped in the steering stem, or on the white sticker (if it has one).
