Just got 50 years younger lately !!
22 Nov 2024 14:26 - 23 Nov 2024 09:34
I got my first bike at 16 years old!!
A Kawa triple 250 1973, then a 500 H1, LTD 1000, Ninja 1000K, ZX-12 R.... Then, I had a terrible crash at Deal Gap. I got back on track with a Ducati 1098 and still have a HD Softail 09 and now my KZ900 !!!!
I was a mechanic when the 900 Z1 came out and I had the honor of preparing a brand new 1974. I made a road test (30 mile) to insure that she was running good I wanted to buy that bike but I could'nt afford it at 19 yo.
I searched for a long time to find one in good condition or to do a restoration. I found some but I was disappointed to see the years that had tarnished my dream.
Finaly, thank God! I saw an add for a green KZ900 76 with the mention show room condition. It was love at first sight and after a road test I made an offer that was accepted:)
This bike is amazing... completely restored. $10 K was spent just for the engine that was totaly rebuilted.
You almost need sunglasse to look at it. It has brand new pipe and chrome parts and covers polished.
The speedo indicates 8000 mile but surely not the original.

Very nice example of the 76 Kz900. I have sold two of that exact model but probably should have kept them
